How to invite a group of your LinkedIn Connections to a region specific event and be able to easily follow up using tags.
(Login to LinkedIn)
1) Select Contacts -> Connections
2) Click on Locations (Bottom Left)
***(Optional – but well worth the effort) Click on Edit Tag (just below Send Message) in order to tag all the people you selected and create a new tag … for example “Toronto-CMO-Jan2012″(local-event-tag) (so that you know who you invited and use this tag in the future by clicking on the tag to follow up after the event with an e-mail that might contain a thank you or further documents).
4) Click on Send message
**** Make sure that “Allow recipients to see each other’s names and email addresses” is NOT checked off
**** if you want a copy, check off the send me a copy
Finally when ready … Click on Send message below your note
6) After the event, you can go to Contacts -> Connections -> Tags -> Click on “local-event-tag” and send a group mail to all invitees as follow up thank you.
